About Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a from of Japanese bodywork with its roots in traditional Chinese medicine. It is similar to acupuncture in that it uses energy channels (meridians) and acupuncture points (tsubos).

Shiatsu consists of various types of pressure applied along the meridians and on the tsubos, stretching and rotation techniques as well as massage.

Shiatsu works with ki (also known as qi or chi) the essential energy or life force. The ki flows as a type of matrix of meridians that link the vital organs with the rest of the body.

When the ki is strong and flowing, one is in good health.

When the ki gets blocked symptoms arise. Shiatsu disperses stagnant ki and tonifies depleted ki where it is needed encouraging free flow and therefore good health.

Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and enables one to let go on a mental, emotional as well as physical level.

Shiatsu is a holistic therapy which means the whole person is treated . The heart and mind are as important as the body.

Empty the heart of everything, let the Mind be at peace.
